The Zimbabwe Republic Police has announced the arrest and conviction of several individuals for crimes of concern in the country.
For the week ending April 24, 2025, the police released the names of suspects who were sentenced to imprisonment for various offenses.
According to Zimbabwe Republic Police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the following suspects were arrested for various crimes.
“Enock Mukwanda was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment for theft of a motor vehicle, Nigel Matongora and Hope Masoka received 10-year sentences for armed robbery, Collen Gweme was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for contravening the Electricity Act, Cephas Mukombwe was sentenced to five years imprisonment for contravening the Precious Stones Trade Act, Elizabeth Marikafu received an eight-year sentence for dealing in dangerous drugs, Isaac Mafa and Brian Tinomudaishe Kaseke were sentenced to eight years imprisonment for theft and four years for fraud.”saiid Police spokeperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi.
The arrest of these suspects demonstrates the Zimbabwe Republic Police’s unwavering commitment to combating crime in the country.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police has ontinued to work with the Judiciary to impose deterrent sentences on offenders and urges the public to report criminal activities through the National Complaints system.
