The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has announced its readiness to provide maximum security across the country from today on April 22 and tomorrow 23 April 2025.
The police force says it has deployed sufficient officers to maintain law and order in various areas, including Central Business Districts, Residential areas, Industrial areas, Public gathering places.
The ZRP also warns that it will take action against anyone who Interferes with traffic flow, obstructs public movement, users of social media to spread alarm or chaos.
“In this regard, the Police will arrest anyone who interferes with the smooth flow of traffic and movement of the public and the public is warned against abusing social media and is urged to totally disregard social media postings meant to cause chaos and alarm in the country,” said a police statement.
The police also assured exhibitors and attendees of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair of their safety and security.
“All local and foreign exhibitors attending the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair exhibition forum are assured of their security and safety.”
The ZRP reiterated its commitment to upholding its constitutional mandate and will take severe action against anyone instigating violence or disrupting economic activities.
“Any instigators of violence and disruption of the normal operation of the economy will be severely dealt with.”
