Zimbabwe’s , Young Warriors are set to face Angola while South Africa will clash against Zambia in the semifinals of the COSAFA Cup that is also acting as a qualifiers for the AFCON qualifiers for the same age group in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The three group winners, South Africa, Angola and Zambia booked their place with successful unbeaten records and were already determined before playing their last group match , meanwhile Zimbabwe stole the show as the best runners up following their intense 4-4 last match draw against their old foes Namibia.
Zimbabwe secured four points and 0 goal difference, the same as Mozambique in group A however Zimbabwe scored 10 goals in this campaign and Mozambique scored two goals, leaving room for the Young Warriors to earn the best runners up spot
Zimbabwe will be hoping to have better results against Angola, to book the spot in the final of this competition and a ticket for the AFCON U17. Angola is a top team in this tournament having won it twice, and Zimbabwe will have to be at their best to stand a chance.
South Africa and Zambia will be one of the matches of the tournament, Zambia will be looking forward to defend their tittle while South Africa as the last competition’s runners up will be looking forward to redeem themselves and book a place in the final.
South Africa will be hoping to display top class performance to redeem themselves in front of their home crowd. Home advantage could be a huge factor and influence in this sem-final match.
