Chinhoyi— The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has issued an urgent alert to the Chinhoyi community following a dramatic turn of events early Tuesday morning when alleged robbers where involved in a accident along the Harare Chirundu highway and are believed to be trying to seek medical assistance .
According to a memo from Detective Chief Inspector Makavi, Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of CID Central, the group of armed robbers involved in the accident around 4:00 AM yesterday, leaving the suspects severely injured and bleeding.
Unaware of their criminal activities, good Samaritans reportedly assisted the injured men and dropped them off in Chinhoyi’s Central Business District (CBD). Authorities believe the suspects may now attempt to receive medical care at private clinics, pharmacies, or through unlicensed home-based treatment.
The police has urged health professionals and business owners to remain vigilant.
“We have a critical situation requiring your immediate attention,” the statement read. “If you encounter suspicious patients with severe injuries, please contact CID Chinhoyi immediately.”
The suspects are considered armed and dangerous, and their injuries may provide a critical opportunity for law enforcement to apprehend them.
