Former Jiti frontman Baba Harare, born Braveman Chizvino, has officially changed his stage name to King David, marking a significant shift in his music career after he embraced gospel music earlier this year.
In July, the “Ndine Hombe” maestro shocked fans by cutting off his trademark dreadlocks and announcing his departure from the Jiti genre to pursue a path in gospel music.
This decision came with speculation that his new wife influenced his transformation, as friends and band mates expressed concerns over his abrupt departure from his previous life.
To demonstrate his commitment to his newfound faith, Baba Harare released his debut gospel album titled “Repentance.” He has another project, “My Testimony,” set for release on October 5.
The name change to King David aligns with his spiritual rebirth, which he hinted at in recent weeks on his social media platforms.
He will also feature on the song “Ngoma” by Ashy Anointed, promoting his new identity in the accompanying video and graphics.
As Baba Harare steps into this new chapter of his life and career, he continues to navigate the challenges and changes that come with his commitment to gospel music and faith
