Zimbabwe national U17Boys team is set to play their 3rd group match against Namibia U17 today, 12.00hours.
Following their 5-1 heartbreaking defeat against Zambia U17, the young Warriors team will be eager to secure the second position in group B to advance to the next level of the competition.The team is currently on second spot with 3 points, level with Namibia but ahead on goal difference while Zambia is leading group B with 6 points after securing back to back victories.
The Young Warriors’ fate in this competition is in their hands as they just need to avoid a defeat to take them through with their superior goal difference an advantage over their rivals.
As they clssh with Namibia the team is hoping to keep their dreams of ending their 17 year cup title drought having last won the tournament back in 2007 after beating Amajita of South Africa in tournament where they sealed their qualication with a draw against their opponents today.
Meanwhile, 2020 champions South Africa is set to face Mauritius later today. South Africa is leading group C with 6 points while Mauritius is 3rd behind Botswana which is set to face Comoros. Each of these 2 games will decide which team will proceed in second position of group C
