Forty-eight hours after reports emerged that Dulibadzimu United Vice-chairman Rex Mphisa had withdrawn the injunction order blocking the club’s Annual General Meeting, the club has rejected the claims, stating that the case was struck off the court roll.
In a statement, the Beitbridge outfit said that contrary to earlier reports on social media, the matter was not withdrawn.
“Court Strikes Off Application to Stop Dulibadzimu United FC AGM. Dulibadzimu United FC, together with Mandla Moyo and Chris Magwali, appeared in court today in response to an ex-parte application filed by Vice-Chairman Mr. Rex Mphisa seeking to interdict the three from convening an Annual General Meeting. The applicant was in default and the matter was struck off the court roll. Contrary to earlier reports on social media, the matter was not withdrawn,” the statement reads.
“The court ruled that the AGM may be convened at any time suitable to the defendants. We are relieved that the club has been spared potential sanctions from FIFA for taking football matters to civil court without exhausting internal football remedies and procedures,” the club added.
However, prior to the club’s statement, a court document dated Wednesday, 10 June 2026, indicated that the club’s Vice-Chairman had withdrawn the case against the club, Chris Magwali and Mandla Moyo.
“I, the undersigned Rex Tumelo Mphisa, do hereby make an oath and state the following: I am the Applicant in this matter. I am withdrawing the Court Application for an ex-parte application against the respondents,” the court document reads.
Meanwhile, Dulibadzimu United are preparing to lock horns with Matobo FC coached by their former coach Rutherford Matondo.
The Beitbridge outfit will be looking to rewrite history following their 4-0 humiliating loss to Kwekwe United, who are coached by former Dulibadzimu coach Stanley “Stano” Ncube.
