The win sees the Beitbridge-based outfit maintain their top spot with 21 points from 10 matches, a single point ahead of second-placed Kwekwe United.
Kwekwe United dispatched MSU 5-0, while third-placed Tongogara FC secured a draw against fifth-placed Blanket Mine. The army side’s draw ensured they keep pace with the leaders, sitting pretty on 19 points with a game in hand.
As the league approaches the halfway mark, the log is taking shape, and title contenders are emerging. Competition is intense, with teams displaying impressive football that is clamouring for more support and showcasing at bigger platforms.
ZIFA, the custodians of the Division One leagues must do more, to provide more support to attract sponsorship for these grassroots teams, crucial for football development.
