Former Economic Freedom Fighters Spokesperson and one of the most popular figures in the South African political party, Dr Mbuyiseni Ndlozi has quit Parliament with the movement promptly accepting his resignation.

He has served in the National Assembly since 2024 and has been one of the most vocal and vibrant MPs in the house.

Dr Ndlozi has been a subject of much speculation amid rumours that he will follow former Deputy President and close ally Floyd Shivambu into joining the Umkhonto Wesizwe (MK Party. He has however consistently denied those allegations affirming his allegiance to the EFF but speculators and analyst believe its a matter of time before he quits the EFF altogether.

Dr Ndlozi swelled that speculation when he did not attend the Party’s third elective congress held in Johannesburg last December. Now that he has quit Parliament, the assumptions that he is on his way out will no doubt go through the roof.
The EFF announced and accepted his resignation together with that of Yazini Tetyana in a press statement.

“The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has received the voluntary resignations of Fighter Yazini Tetyana and Fighter Dr. Mbuyiseni Ndlozi as representatives of the EFF in the Parliament of South Africa,” read the EFF Statement.

“The EFF has accepted the respective voluntary requests to be released from deployment of the two Fighters, who have diligently served the organization in their respective deployments since the EFF has had representation in the legislative sphere.”

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) continues to teeter on the political edge as the uncertainty and political brickmanship in the once vocal third force in South African politics continues unabated.

Accusations and counter accusations of backstabbing, selling out has become the order of the day in the once vibrant movement which rose to prominence riding on the back of a black empowerment horse. It all began when Deputy President Floyd Shivambu quit unexpectedly to join the new baby on the South African political scene, Umkhonto Wesizwe (MK Party) led by former President Jacob Zuma.

It remains to be seen if indeed Dr Ndlozi will quit the party which brought him to political prominence amid rumours of a huge fallout with party President Julius Malema.Ndlozi has had to push back direct and subtle attacks on his persona in recent times with his close links to Shivambu at the centre of the vile directed at him.
