As the scandal surrounding Baltasar Ebang Engonga, the director of Equatorial Guinea’s National Financial Investigation Agency, continues to unfold, new details have emerged regarding the shocking circumstances that led to the proliferation of approximately 400 explicit videos of him with various women on the internet.

Reports indicate that investigators discovered the videos while examining Engonga’s computer as part of a broader inquiry into corruption and embezzlement of public funds.

The explicit material features Engonga alongside multiple women, some of whom are reportedly wives or relatives of high-ranking government officials.

The origin of the leaked footage remains unclear, and speculation surrounds the motives behind the release.

Significantly, it remains uncertain whether the encounters depicted in the videos were consensual, and it has not yet been reported if any of the women involved have filed formal complaints against Engonga.

Prosecutor General Anatolio Nzang Nguema highlighted the gravity of the situation, stating that authorities are investigating whether Engonga exploited these relationships to knowingly spread a disease, which could result in charges related to public health endangerment.

In a statement posted on X, Equatorial Guinea’s Vice President, Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, announced Engonga’s suspension pending an investigation.

Mangue Further announced plans to implement surveillance cameras in government offices to eradicate improper and illicit behavior. He stressed that any individual caught engaging in sexual activity in the workplace would face immediate dismissal.
