Bulawayo – The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed a tragic road traffic incident that occurred along Nketa Drive near Insukamini Primary School, resulting in the deaths of a couple.
According to the ZRP, the accident happened when the husband, who was behind the wheel of a Toyota Corolla, lost control of the vehicle. The car then veered off the road and collided with a roadside tree.
Emergency services responded promptly to the scene, but unfortunately, both victims sustained severe head injuries and were pronounced dead on the spot.
The identities of the victims have not yet been disclosed pending notification of family members.
The Police are currently investigating the circumstances leading to the accident, including whether speed or other factors contributed to the loss of control.
The ZRP urges motorists to adhere to traffic regulations and exercise caution to prevent further tragedies on the roads.
