THE Gwanda Prisons Darts team took part in the National Darts Association of Zimbabwe (NDAZ) Club Champion of Champions Tournament, held on January 31, 2026 at the Cam and Motor Club in Eiffel Flats, Kadoma.
The 13th edition of this national event brought together top darts clubs from across Zimbabwe, providing a platform for competition, learning, and camaraderie among players.
Rev Darts of Harare emerged as champions, with Bull Hits of Manicaland finishing as runners-up, while RBZ Bulawayo and The Place from Mashonaland West shared third place.

Representing Matabeleland South, the Gwanda Prisons team which includes prison officers, members of the Zimbabwe Republic Police, and community players competed against some of the country’s leading darts clubs and finished in sixth place.
The tournament offered the team valuable experience and the opportunity to engage with players from across the country.
Hoitsimolimo Nare was a notable performer for the Gwanda Prisons side, recording an impressive 101 checkout, reflecting the team’s growing skill and commitment to the sport.
At the conclusion of the tournament, NDAZ President Meynard Moyo addressed participants, emphasizing the future of darts in Zimbabwe, particularly among juniors.
He encouraged young players to learn from experienced competitors and take advantage of opportunities presented by tournaments.
“One thing I saw is that we have a future in this sport. I saw the youngsters who are actually taking over. Young stars should grow well, follow what the elders are doing, and move forward,” he said.
The NDAZ Club Champion of Champions Tournament continues to provide a platform for clubs and institutions to participate, develop talent, and promote darts across Zimbabwe.
