Kwekwe – Ambitious Central Region Soccer League siege Hardrock Football Club has announced the appointment of former Dulibadzimu United coach Rutherford Matondo to the position of assistant coach.

The ex Dulibadzimu gaffer announced his departure from the Beitbridge outfit yesterday citing the pull factor of greener pastures as the reason for his departure to the Kwekwe side.

In a statement, Hardrock heralded Matondo for his experience and announced his immediate drafting into the technical setup.

“Hard Rock Football Club is pleased to officially announce the appointment of Mr. Rutherford Matondo as the new Assistant Coach of the club, effective immediately,Mr Matondo (52) is a seasoned football tactician with extensive experience in the local football landscape. He previously served as Head Coach for Chrome Stars, ZPC Munyati, Tel-One and Dilubadzimu FC were he earned a reputation for discipline, structured training methods, and developing competitive squads, said the championship chasing side.

Matondo holds a CAF C Coaching Certificate and is expected to assist Hardrock in their fight against leaders Sheasham for the coveted price.

Commenting on his appointment, Head Coach Calvin Maphosa said, “We are delighted to welcome Mr Matondo to the technical team. His experience and football Knowledge will add valuable support as we prepare for the challenges of the second round. His work ethic, and leadership align with the club’s values and ambitions”
