Zimbabwean referee Brighton Chimene has been appointed by CAF to be among the 2025 CHAN tournament, scheduled to take place from 2 to 30 August.
Chimene will be part of the CHAN tournament that is cohosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
CAF has shortlisted Brighton Chimene in their referee list for the CHAN tournament amongst others from different nations.
Chimene is set to become the first Zimbabwean referee at a CHAN tournament and also first to officiate at a major continental tournament, since Kenny Marange who featured at the epic 2008 Africa Cup of Nations
Chimene ‘s selection shows his determination and high standards of officiating, following the number of recent referees suspension by ZIFA due to below standard performance and poor decision makings which affected several match outcomes.
