ZIMDANCEHALL artist Simbarashe Magado popularly known as Hwinza, will perform at the Canvas Curve Club in Beitbridge on May 23 to celebrate the birthday of event organizer Mathew Matios.
The event, which begins at 1800hrs and runs until the following day, will also feature local acts Mark Geezo, DJ Teddy B, MC Kay One, and Jungle Booster.
Rather than just making music for pure entertainment, Hwinza is well known for his socially conscious lyrics.
Born in 1998 at Chitungwiza Zimbabwe, Hwinza faced an incredibly difficult childhood characterized by poverty and family tragedy losing his mother in 2012 at the age of thirteen.
He frequently touches on real-life ghetto experiences, struggles, and stories meant to motivate and uplift the youth in his community.
He has released a steady stream of singles, collaborations, and projects over the years.
Some of his most popular and defining tracks include “Lula” (2018) a catchy, upbeat reggae/dancehall fusion that helped cement his ability to make accessible good music.
Event planner, Matios told Ziyah News Network that event performers are geared up for the event and ready to deliver some good action.
“Preparations on everything regarding the clubbing experience has began, all MCs and DJs are geared up to deliver the best of their entertaining skills” he said.
He also said, sharing his personal feelings about the upcoming event.
“The feeling is quite overwhelming and feels great since it will be my birthday celebration night. It gives a unique vibe to me as a person since it is my first to celebrate the day in such a way,” Matios said.
Hwinza’s manager announced his confirmations on Ziyah News Network about his performance at Canvas Curve.
“The artist is prepared for the event and plans to perform songs such as Bye Bye Amai, Ndikoko, and Ndiudze Zvese.”
Hwinza’s Manager also confirmed his preparedness and readiness to grace the beitbridge Canvas stage.
“Hwinza is happy and fully prepared to grace Canvas Curve,” the management team stated.
