Minister of Information Communication, Technology, Postal and Courier Services, Hon. Tatenda Mavetera, has officially launched Starlink in Zimbabwe, with Aura Group serving as its licensed reseller an initiative that aims to provide fast and reliable satellite internet access across the country, significantly enhancing connectivity and driving economic growth.

During her speech at the Aura Group-Starlink Zimbabwe Reseller Dealership launch, Minister Mavetera emphasised the importance of connectivity in today’s economy.

“Connectivity is the new oil, driving or drawing back economic development in many nations. Zimbabwe can only attain Vision 2030 by improving access to connectivity for all its people,” she stated.

Starlink’s satellite internet service is expected to bridge the digital divide by enabling individuals and businesses in underserved regions to access reliable internet. This increased connectivity is anticipated to empower local economies and integrate Zimbabwe into the global digital economy.

Minister Mavetera highlighted that the launch of Starlink marks a significant step towards achieving the government’s goal of providing universal internet access. The move aligns with the country’s Vision 2030, which seeks to transform Zimbabwe into a middle-income economy.

With the partnership between Starlink and Aura Group, the Minister expressed optimism about the positive impact this technology will have on education, healthcare, and business opportunities for Zimbabweans.

As the rollout of Starlink begins, the Government remains committed to advancing digital infrastructure across the country, ensuring that every Zimbabwean can participate in the digital world.
