The Southern African Development Community (SADC) Anti-Sanctions musical concert is set to kick off tomorrow night at Habane Stadium in Esigodini, Umzingwane District, and a massive crowd is expected to attend the vibrant event starting at 6 PM. This concert is a key highlight of this year’s Anti-Sanctions Day, which coincides with the Zanu-PF Annual National People’s Conference, poised to be officially opened by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
As the current SADC chairman, President Mnangagwa is anticipated to deliver a keynote address during the anti-sanctions commemorations, advocating for the unconditional lifting of sanctions that have plagued Zimbabwe for over two decades.
These sanctions have had devastating effects on the economy and the livelihoods of many Zimbabweans, making this event not only a celebration of music but also a powerful statement against economic challenges.
The SADC Anti-Sanctions Day, commemorated by Zimbabwe and other SADC countries, was adopted during the 39th Summit at the recommendation of the late President of Tanzania, John Magufuli.
This day serves as a rallying point for the region and the progressive global community to push for the unconditional removal of the sanctions against Zimbabwe.
Under the theme “Embracing Innovation, Towards Vision 2030: The Relentless Fight Against Illegal Sanctions,” the concert will feature an impressive lineup of top musicians who are ready to deliver electrifying performances throughout the night.
Among the artists set to grace the stage are renowned names such as Jah Master, Sandra Ndebele, Chief Hwenje, DJ Fantan, lyasa, Godolude, Jeys Marabini, Clement Magwaza, Sasha Madube, Manine, Mzoe7, Madlela Skhobokhobo, Simon Mutambi, Jah Signal, Mbare Chimurenga, and Mark Ngwazi.
As excitement builds for this monumental gathering, the people of Zimbabwe are gearing up to unite in song and solidarity, reinforcing their commitment to the fight against illegal sanctions and celebrating their resilience through music.
