BEITBRIDGE based artist Mark Geezo is set to release his debut single, Changu Chimoko, on August 17, following his performance in Rutenga on August 8.

Born Regis Mandangu, Mark Geezo has gained recognition through songs including Magunvosta, featuring Qounfuzed, Zi Calendar, featuring Wisy Msalad, and Hemeni, a track blending Zimbabwean Afro sounds with South Africa’s Amapiano.

Speaking to Ziyah News Network, Mark Geezo said the upcoming single was inspired by someone he has admired for a long time.

“The song is called Changu Chimoko. A piece dedicated to a long-time crush and someone I have been stalking,” he said.

“The message conveyed here is, if only you can be mine, you will forever be happy and feel loved.”

He said the song was produced by OB Tha Producer, a beat maker who has worked with artists including Freeman, Killer T and Kae Chaps, while Geezyan Music handled the vocal mixing.

“The song is dropping on Monday. However, my fans should expect new music featuring Qounfuzed and Poptain, as well as a four-track extended playlist this September,” he said.

Mentored by his brother Marcus Mandangu, Mark Geezo has built a growing following, with more than 43,000 followers on Facebook and at least 35,000 on TikTok.

He said his performances were also expanding beyond his hometown of Beitbridge, with bookings taking him to areas in the Mashonaland provinces.

Mark Geezo has won two TESMA Awards and one BSMA Award since beginning his music career.
