Morocco and Mali are set to battle for continental glory in the CAF U17 Africa Cup of Nations final following their successful victories in the semi finals yesterday.
The Young Atlas Lions, Morocco defeated Ivory Coast in a penalty shootout, winning 4-3 after the match ended 0-0 in regular time.
The Young Lions’ Chouaib Bellaarouch became the hero of the night as Morocco eliminated Côte d’Ivoire on penalties to advance to the final after making 2 brilliant penalty saves.
Mali secured their final spot after defeating Burkina Faso 2-0 in the other semi finals.Soumaila Fané and Mahamadou Traore scored the two goals that sent Burkina Faso home.
Backed by the home crowd, Young Atlas Lions have been outstanding defeating giants such as Ivory Coast South Africa on their road to the final while Mali has outshined big teams like Burkina Faso in the semi finals and Tunisia in the quarter finals.
