PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa has appointed two new deputy ministers in a reshuffle aimed at boosting government performance in key ministries.
In a statement issued by the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr. Martin Rushwaya on December 17 , the appointments were made in line with Section 104, Subsection (2) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe.
ZANU PF legislator for Mt Pleasant, Mutimbanyoka Kiven, has been appointed Deputy Minister of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development.
He is expected to help strengthen grassroots economic empowerment initiatives and support women-led enterprises across the country.
Also appointed is Fred Moyo, Member of Parliament for Zvishavane-Runde, who returns to government as Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Development.
Moyo previously held the same post between 2013 and 2017 and will now deputise newly appointed Mines Minister Polite Kambamura.
