PROSPECTIVE National University of Science and Technology from Beitbridge will this year benefit from a two-day on the spot undergraduate admissions outreach programme aimed at giving them an opportunity to apply for the August 2026 when the institution visits the border town.
The enrolment exercise is being held at the ZESA Complex from August 6 to August 7, targeting learners who recently sat for and passed their June examinations.
Speaking for the outreach programme, NUST Director of Communication and Marketing, Mr Thabani Mpofu, said the initiative is designed to reach potential students who may not have had an opportunity to apply through conventional channels.
“We are mopping up those potential students who wrote and passed their June examinations. As a STEM-oriented university, we are encouraging female students to enrol for our programmes in Science, Engineering, Technology, Agricultural Science, the Built Environment, and many others,” said Mpofu.
He said the university remains committed to producing graduates equipped with critical skills required by industry while fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.
“We are committed to producing critical skills that are needed in the market. We produce innovative and entrepreneurial graduates who are not only ready for the job market but are capable of starting their own businesses globally,” he said.
NUST is encouraging prospective applicants, particularly young women, to take advantage of the outreach programme and pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and related fields.
Applicants are required to bring certified copies of their birth certificate, national identity card, and educational or professional certificates, including Ordinary and Advanced Level certificates, result slips or online statements.
The university said the application fee is US$20, payable online through a ZimSwitch-enabled bank card or EcoCash during the application process.
The outreach programme forms part of NUST’s efforts to expand access to higher education and increase enrolment for the August 2026 intake, particularly in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) discipline
