Shatrisha Vibes, real name Lee Wayne Maponga, one of the pioneers of online content creation in the country has died.

Social media platforms have been flooded with heartfelt RIP messages as fans and socialites mourned the death of Shatrisha.

Known for his vibrant and entertaining impersonations of female characters, particularly his popular “guhwa to the guhwest” skits, Shatrisha was one of the pioneers of content creation on Facebook, gaining fame during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tragically, after rising to prominence, Shatrisha’s presence on social media dwindled as he faced a private battle with cancer.

Despite his earlier popularity, reports indicate that he received little support during his illness, raising serious questions about the priorities of the content creation community and its followers.

In the wake of his passing, notable Zimbabwean content creators including Mai Titi, Madam Boss, Olinda Chapel, and Lorraine Guyo shared their condolences online, posting pictures of Shatrisha with mournful messages.

Their tributes highlight the profound impact he had on many, yet they also underscore a painful reality, the attention and recognition he received posthumously a complete contrast with the silence that surrounded him during his struggle with cancer.

This tragic situation sheds light on a troubling trend within the content creation landscape, where individuals are often celebrated only in death, while their struggles go unnoticed.
