ZIMBABWEAN musician Qounfuzed is set to return to Beitbridge for the Holiday Shutdown at Terry’s Garden on September 4, 2026.
Born McDonald Sheldon in 1993, Qounfuzed grew up in Warren Park, Harare, and began his music career in 2008 at the age of 15.
He emerged during the Urban Grooves era before shifting towards dancehall, releasing his album King of Style in 2011.
Qounfuzed won Best Male Artist at the 2021 Zimbabwe British Entertainment Awards.
He also won the Zimdancehall Best Artist at Diaspora in 2020.
His music catalogue includes songs such as Memories and Kamunamato Kekubhawa, which have contributed to his popularity over the years.
He has also worked with some of Zimbabwe’s prominent musicians, including Winky D on the track XYZ from the critically acclaimed Eureka album.
Locally, he collaborated with rising Beitbridge artist Mark Geezo on Magunvosta.
Following his recent appearance at the second edition of Doek and Slay in Beitbridge, Qounfuzed said he was looking forward to returning to the town.
“I am so honoured to be returning to Beitbridge. The last time we came for Doek and Slay, we had a great time engaging with the crowd,” he said.
“This time, as we hit Terry’s Garden, we hope to meet and interact with the fans.”
“Since it is a day event, we expect to celebrate with families. Bring your friends and come with your kids as we shut down the holiday.”
“Expect a day filled with glamour and celebration as I perform good new music to the crowd,” he said.
The event will also feature family-oriented activities, including a jumping castle, trampoline, braai, kids’ cars and other entertainment activities.
MC Kay One and MC Slim, together with the Vibe Masters, are also scheduled to entertain the crowd with dance performances.
Speaking to Ziyah News Network, Vibe Masters representative MC Kay One said preparations were underway.
“As the day draws closer, we are preparing massive moves to entertain the Beitbridge crowd. Expect an electric performance from the Vibe Masters,” he said.
Spectator Abigail Madyauta, who said she plans to attend the event, described Qounfuzed as an artist with a diverse music catalogue.
“Qounfuzed is one of the unique ones, as his music catalogue is rich and enough to make a diversified crowd jump.”
“I feel like we are going to have a big day, hence I urge residents to join me as we go for the shutdown,” she said.
