South African Football Association President Danny Jordan has been arrested and is set to appear in Palm Ridge magistrate‘s court in South Africa today on allegations to fraud and theft of spending 1.3 million of association money.

According to SABC news, the arrest came after an intensive investigation by Serious Commercial Crime investigation Unit into allegation of fraud and theft. Additionally the SAFA President is alleged that between 2014 and 2018 Jordan used SAFA‘s resources for his personal protection and a public relation company without authorization from the board.

“SAFA president Danny Jordan and his co accused has arrived at the Palm Ridges Magistrate‘s Court on charges of theft and fraud, allegedly to tune of 1.3 million. This is after they were arrested in Johannesburg this morning”SABC Sport wrote on Facebook.

The SAFA president is also likely to face more charges as the Director for Priority Crime investigation; the Hawks could add more charges including issues surrounding the 100million dollar 2010 FIFA World Cup Legacy trust.

Pressure has been mounting for the 73 year old sports administrator has been facing mounting pressure for him to step down as the SAFA president.
