Harare, Zimbabwe – Could it be that the jiti maestro himself, Baba Harare, is ready to shake off his gospel robes and return to the vibrant beats of jiti music? Fans are speculating wildly after the artist, whose real name is Braveman Chizvino, stirred the pot with a recent Facebook post that has left everyone questioning his musical direction.
Just a few weeks ago, Baba Harare made headlines with his announcement that he was transitioning to a full-time gospel career, adopting the moniker King David.
While some fans applauded the shift, others were left scratching their heads and longing for the jiti tunes that once made them dance.
In a heartfelt message to his fans, Baba Harare expressed gratitude for their support during his spiritual journey.
“To my family. Thank you very much for your understanding and unwavering support throughout my transition. Naturally, I took a pause on any interaction with yourselves as I navigated through the initial phase of my spiritual journey.” He wrote,
“I come back well advised, prayed up, and ready to serve you on our platform.”
The post raised eyebrows and sparked a flurry of comments from his followers, many of whom seemed eager for a return to his jiti roots.
“Welcome back, lost sheep!” one fan cheered, while another chimed in, “We missed the jiti vibes! Don’t leave us hanging, Baba!”
“Ndadzoka murisei? Manga muchiitei?” he asked in his post, which translates to “I’ve returned, what have you all been up to?”
The comment section exploded with excitement, as fans shared their favorite jiti memories and begged for a new album filled with those infectious beats.
One fan humorously commented, “I was about to start a petition for the return of jiti! Glad you’re back, Baba Harare!”
Another remarked, “I never thought I’d miss the ‘nonsense’ jiti, but here we are! Give us more jiti!”
As the excitement builds, the question on everyone’s lips remains: Is Baba Harare really coming back to jiti, or is this just a tease? Fans are eagerly awaiting his next move, hoping that the rhythm of jiti will once again fill the airwaves.
