MUSINA based musician Vincent Hove, popularly known as Vhafisher, is set to release his debut album Midzi Yanga in late June, sharing the story of his musical journey and personal growth.
The 10-track album, whose title translates to “My Roots,” traces Vhafisher’s path from the beginning of his music career to the present day.
Through the project, he reflects on the challenges he has faced and the achievements he has made along the way.
Midzi Yanga blends Afro-pop, Hip-hop and Lekompo, a sound closely associated with his homeland of Nuli.
Born in Beitbridge, Vhafisher attended both primary and secondary school at Nuli Institution before pursuing his music ambitions.
He began his music career in 2018 when he released his first single, Haya Vhayanitoda, featuring Bhadilah.
The song carries a message that home is where one truly belongs.
Over the years, Vhafisher has gained recognition for his work. In 2023, he won Song of the Year at the Sundrive Awards with his hit track Baji.
The same year, he secured second runners-up position in Musina FM’s Best Artist of the Year category.
Currently based in Musina, Vhafisher is a single father raising his son while continuing to build his music career.
Speaking about the album, Vhafisher said Midzi Yanga marks the beginning of greater achievements ahead.
“Midzi Yanga is literally my story, my roots, my journey, everything I have encountered and what I am becoming in the future as Vhafisher across borders,” he said.
He also said that relocating to South Africa in 2020 was an important step in expanding his musical career and pursuing his dream.
“Moving to South Africa in 2020 was a stride for me to expand my musical career and fulfill my dream,” he said
