Vhembe Stars Academy FC climbed from position 16 to 12 after securing their first win of the season against FC Platinum U19, a result that reshaped the lower half of the table and boosted their survival hopes.
According to Central region Soccer league updates (CRSL),the victory gave Vhembe Stars six points from six matches, moving them above MSU FC and closer to mid-table teams.
It also pushed FC Platinum U19 deeper to the bottom of the standings with just one point, increasing their relegation worries.
At the top, Chapungu FC remain in control of the league with 16 points after six matches, still unbeaten. Kwekwe United FC sit second with 13 points, while Blanket Mine FC, Gwanda Pirates FC, and Shabanie Mine FC are closely packed on 11 points, showing a tight race for the top positions.
In the middle of the table, teams like Grain Tigers FC, West Nicholson FC, and Tongogara FC continue to stay competitive, all within reach of the leading pack. Meanwhile, the lower half remains congested, with only a few points separating several clubs.
Vhembe Stars’ win could be a turning point, but they will need consistent performances to move further up. With the season still young, both the title race and the relegation battle remain wide open.
