Harare, Zimbabwe — Hon. Monica Mutsvangwa (Sen), the Minister of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development, has called on the youth of Zimbabwe to take up the national torch and advance the legacy of peace and nation-building that Bishop Abel Muzorewa championed during the liberation struggle.
In her remarks at the Zimbabwe Peace Initiative event honouring Bishop Muzorewa, Mutsvangwa emphasized that, had he been with us today, he would be proud of the progress the youth can make. She noted that today’s youth, with the help of modern technology, have the opportunity to engage in innovative industries, and that the Second Republic is committed to providing the necessary support for this endeavor.
“The youth today, with the help of modern technology, can engage in innovative industries. The Second Republic will give the necessary support to that cause,” she stated.
Mutsvangwa further commended the late Bishop Muzorewa for his remarkable achievements during the liberation struggle, highlighting that his contributions are a significant part of our national history that should never be forgotten.
“All said, Bishop Muzorewa played a great role and fruitfully acquitted himself at that auspicious hour in the march to freedom, independence, and democracy,” she concluded.
The event served as a poignant reminder of the importance of remembering our past as we work towards a brighter and more prosperous future for all Zimbabweans.
