EXCITEMENT is building in Beitbridge as comedian and actress Tarisai Chikocho, popularly known as Madam Boss, prepares to premiere her biographical film Becoming Madam Boss at Purple Hut on Friday, July 3.
Inspired by her life, the film follows Madam Boss’ rise from humble beginnings to becoming one of Zimbabwe’s best-known social media personalities, actress and entrepreneur.
Produced by ZBC Production in partnership with Madam Boss TV Yako Production, the film carries the theme, “She Carried a Nation, Now the World Will Watch”.
The movie was written and directed by Sydney Taivavashe.
The screenplay features Tarisai Chikocho, Michael Kudakwashe, Bathabile Dlamini and Dillsh Masango, and Yellow Card actor Leroy Gopal.
Born at Harare in 1985, Madam Boss has built a strong following of more than one million on social media.
She won the African Social Star Award at the People’s Choice Awards in 2021.
Featured in the South African television series uBettina Wethu and the Nollywood film Offspring.
Speaking to Ziyah News Network, Madam Boss’ manager, Fanwell Masunungure, said preparations are progressing well.
“Preparations for the film premiere are going well, we have managed to partner with Nyaradzo Group to help deliver a special event for the Beitbridge fans since it’s the first time.”
“We encourage everyone to come and enjoy the movie while drawing inspiration from Madam Boss’ journey.”he said
He also encouraged fans to expect the glitz and glamour characteristic of recent premieres in Harare, Bulawayo and, most recently, Masvingo.
