Fourteen of the seventeen clubs plying their trade in the hotly contested Central Region Soccer league converged in Beitbridge for the league’s Extra ordinary General Meeting (EGM) amid concerns of some of the refereeing decisions by the teams.

While the Acting Chairman of the league, Patrick Hill commended the clubs for the high levels of discipline as confirmed by the disciplinary committee, he also indicated that clubs had flagged a couple of referees for poor officiating.

“If you look at prior years, we would already have be have about two or three cases before the disciplinary committee and I am glad to say this first half we have not had any case with the disciplinary committee and no clubs have complained and no game has been abandoned. The clubs were talking that there are referees that have been inconsistent in three or so games and the referees coordinator has committed to look into that and make sure the issue is resolved, “he said.

The post  EGM  report from the Chairman also carried sweet news for would be champions of the Central Region as there is going to be an inter-regional tournament featuring winners of the ZIFA Division one leagues as they prep themselves for premiership football.
