BEITBRIDGE town teams Dulibadzimu FC and Vhembe Stars Academy go into the Munhumutapa Cup battle on May 2, the former hosting ZRP Gwanda while the latter face lower Division 2 Nottingham FC from Beitbridge farms.

Following a confidence-boosting home victory over MSU FC on April 25, Dulibadzimu appear ready but ZRP have not been easy for the Beitbridge boys in the recent past.

Dulis and ZRP matches have been highly competitive and good results can go either way.

Dulibadzimu FC, currently sits 10th on the table with seven points, having recorded two wins and one draw.

Team manager Ferdinard Matete told Ziyah News Network that the squad remains largely unchanged from the side that secured the win against MSU FC and confirmed their preparation ahead of the upcoming encounter.

“The team is built up of the last line-up which won victory against MSU. We are aiming to win this game with no failure,” said Matete.

He also praised team captain Oscar for his leadership within the squad.

“I am acknowledging our team captain Oscar, who is apparently the pillar of the team, ensuring deliverance and best efforts for the team,” he said.

Supporters have also voiced optimism ahead of the clash.

Dulibadzimu FC fan Shalom Mutavhatsindi said the recent result has boosted belief among team followers.

“We are excited as fans for Dulibadzimu FC being part of the tournament. After our recent win against MSU, we are confident of the team’s form and chances to excel,” he said.

Dulibadzimu FC will look to build on their recent momentum as they begin their Munhumutapa Cup campaign at home.

Whereas Vhembe Stars FC is hoping to secure its first win against Nottingham FC after attaining a 1-1 away Draw with Division One rivals, Good Morning FC.

Vhembe Stars FC sits at position 16 with three draws, two loses.

Vhembe FC will battle the home rivals on the Munhumutapa Pool B Matabeleland South that include Hamozy FC, Nottingham FC, West Academy and Beitbridge Juice FC.

Dulibadzimu FC will be competing in the Munhumutapa Cup alongside Blanket Mine FC, FC Platinum U19, ZRP Gwanda and Good Morning FC.

Speaking to Ziyah News Network,Secretary General of Vhembe Stars, Foster Abeck said the boys are ready to play regardless of the recent chain of draws in the league matches.

“There are three sides to the game that includes Win, draw and lose Hence we are aiming for victory on this coming Cup game and the boys are ready to play”

Whereas Vhembe Stars FC is set to secure its first win following a series of draws on its previous league matches.
