Jamaican reggae icon Burning Spear has touched down in Zimbabwe for his inaugural performance, scheduled for tomorrow, October 18, 2024, at the Glamis Arena in Harare. This highly anticipated event is part of his “One People Tour Africa,” organized by Sound System Club and Friends of Jamaica, bringing together fans and artists in a celebration of unity and culture.

Burning Spear, born Winston Rodney, is celebrated for his impactful roots reggae music and profound messages advocating for the rights of Black people. His renowned tracks, such as “African Teacher,” “Cry Blood,” and “Open the Gate,” have resonated with audiences worldwide, solidifying his legacy as a powerful voice in the genre.

Concertgoers can expect an electrifying performance as Burning Spear takes the stage with his full band, with doors opening at 4:30 PM. The night will also showcase a host of talented local reggae artists, including Cello Culture, Transit Crew, Emmanuel “Mannex” Motsi, Killer T, Merciless, MC Fydale, Judgement Yard, Banso Da MC, and the beloved songstress Feli Nandi.

After captivating the Harare audience, Burning Spear will jet off to South Africa for performances at Emperors Palace in Johannesburg on Saturday and Mhudi Wines Farm in Cape Town on Sunday.

As a dedicated Rastafarian and one of the most influential roots artists since the 1970s, Burning Spear’s return to the stage promises to be a memorable night for reggae enthusiasts in Zimbabwe.
