THE Zimbabwe football fraternity is mourning the passing of Sheasham midfielder Frankson Bushiri, who died in a car crash in Gweru early Sunday after his vehicle veered off the road, hit a fence and a tree, cutting the vehicle in half.

The former Chapungu player , who also played for PSL side TelOne , and was currently playing for the Construction Boys, died aged 34.

Central Region Soccer League Division One side Shabane Mine has paid tribute to their former player, Bushiri.

“Hard to believe gone too soon, Frank Bushiri, One of our former and young players Frankson Bushiri, who was very promising has been reportedly involved in a fatal crash in Gweru. Bushiri was now playing for Sheasham Fc.May your soul rest in peace midfield maestro. Its unbelievable mabvaru,” Shabane Mine said.

In a statement, the Premier Soccer league giants FC Platinum have also sent their condolences to the Construction Boys and Bushiri ‘s family.


“Rest in Peace, Fraskson Bushiri. We mourn the loss of Fraskson Bushiri, a talented Sheasham FC player and former FC Platinum U19 star. His passion, dedication and love for the game will never be forgotten. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, teammates, and the football community. Gone too soon, forever remembered,” FC Platinum ‘s statement reads.

The Construction boys took to social media highlight that details regarding Frankson Bushiri ‘s funeral be provided later today, January 12, 2026.
