Harare – The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has arrested two men in connection with a robbery incident that took place at Mabvuku Turn-off on 19 September 2025.
According to ZRP, the suspects Francis Kunaya (27) and Thompson Pembedzo (25) allegedly offered the complainant a lift to Mabvuku before turning on him and robbing him of a cellphone, a pair of shoes, and his national identity card.
The victim was later abandoned near Old Shamva Road along the Mutoko–Harare Road.
Police said that on 20 September, officers spotted Kunaya at Solani Shopping Centre in Epworth, where he was found wearing the stolen shoes. His arrest subsequently led to the arrest of Pembedzo, after Kunaya implicated him as an accomplice.
The ZRP confirmed on their official x account, that investigations into the matter are ongoing and urged the public to remain vigilant when accepting lifts from strangers.
