A 22 year old model from Beitbridge, Silence Tadzembwa, is steadily rising in Zimbabwe’s pageantry scene following an inspiring performance at the Miss Tourism Zimbabwe 2026 finals held in Harare.

Born into a family of six and the eldest child, Tadzembwa’s journey has been marked by resilience.

Growing up, she faced ridicule from peers, her dark complexion and height, but she turned the criticism into motivation to build confidence and self-worth.

“I decided to embrace who I am and find confidence in myself,” she said.

Tadzembwa’s modeling journey began in 2023 when she entered the Queen of South pageant, finishing in the top five.

She later competed in Miss Beitbridge 2025, where she was crowned second runner-up, further cementing her passion for the industry.

Tadzembwa views modeling as more than just beauty and fashion.

“It’s a platform for young people to express confidence, develop public speaking skills, and empower other girls and young women in society,” she said.

Tadzembwa’s determination earned her a place on the national stage at Miss Tourism Zimbabwe 2026.
Despite financial challenges, she managed to participate with support from her family, friends, and well-wishers.

Out of 30 contestants nationwide, Tadzembwa advanced into the top 16 through online projects, securing a spot at the final boot camp and stage competition held on April 11, 2026 in Harare.

Although she joined the boot camp late at a Recreational Park in Zimbabwe, she quickly adapted to the demanding schedule and bonded with fellow contestants.

“It was an adventurous journey filled with unity, passion, and learning. We were groomed to be queens with purpose and to initiate projects that can impact our communities,” said Tadzembwa.

At the grand finale, Tadzembwa competed among 13 finalists and delivered strong performances in interviews, runway, and question-and-answer segments, ultimately securing a place in the top eight.

The competition saw a contestant from Bulawayo crowned Miss Tourism Zimbabwe 2026, followed by Kwekwe as first runner-up and Marondera as second runner-up.

Tadzembwa said representing Beitbridge on a national platform was a proud achievement.

“I managed to put Beitbridge on the map, and that means everything to me,” she said.

Miss Tourism Zimbabwe National Director, Chris Ncube, commended the overall standard of this year’s competition, describing it as a significant improvement from previous editions.

“Leading this organization has been one of my greatest honors for the last two years. We have taken girls from the streets of Zimbabwe to the global stage. This event was a step up from last year, it was fantastic. Everyone gave their all and we achieved a national standard show together,” he said.

Tadzembwa also applauded organisers for hosting a successful pageant that celebrates talent, culture, and purpose driven youth.

With growing confidence and determination, she is now focused on using modeling as a tool to inspire and uplift young women across Zimbabwe.
