DULIVHADZIMU United assistant coach Nkosi “Mamdala” Msimanga has added a feather to his coaching wings after attaining the Confederation of African Football class D licence.

Mamdala, a former player of the team sat for his exams recently and was successful.

Dulivhadzimu United Team Manager Ferdinand Matete aka Mashefu said the achievement is celebrated as his personal and the team’s achievement.

He said it spoke volumes about the Beitbridge Border Post based team and how its home-grown talent were performing on the football fronts.

Matete said Mamdala achievement showed that off the pitch Dulivhadzimu continued the development of the Beitbridge child for the growth of the sport.

“We celebrate with him. Its an achievement not only his but the entire community. He is a son of this town and his qualification speaks to how serious we are as a club,” said Mashefu.

“You realise we have been getting coaches from elsewhere and they dump us. A Beitbridge coach knows our culture and the sooner we get from within, thebetter for Beitbridge, ” he said.

Dulivhadzimu United for the first part of the 2025 season rode high remaining in the top four but lost its gaffer Rutherford Matondo to eventual winners Hardrock..

After Matondo departure an exodus of players followed leaving the team a pale shadow of its former self in the second part of the season.

The team settled for Fortune Fokoza, a youthful coach who also resigned last week.

Mashefu said a local coach would not jump ship but would soldier on because he would have a belonging spirit.

“He sat on the bench this season and it shows we follow our talents on the pitch and on the bench. All our coaches now have papers and it helps us not to outsource,” he said.
