MATEBELELAND South traditional leaders and local communities, are preparing for the Annual Sialala cultural event set for May 25 at Mpande, Zezani.
The event is expected to feature local talents with performances from Musicians, Poets and drama acts to be revealed sooner on the line up.
Speaking to Ziyah News Network, Chief Tshitaudze said the occasion plays a key role in preserving Vhavenda traditions and teaching young people about their roots.
“Sialala day is an important day to celebrate our culture and heritage as Vha Venda. The day teaches the young generation where they coming from and their identity to know where they are going,” said Chief Tshitaudze.
The festival is expected to attract various cultural groups who will showcase traditional food, colourful attire, indigenous dances and different languages in a lively cultural showcase.
Chief Mathibe told Ziyah News Network that the celebrations will unite communities through cultural expression and entertainment.
“The event is a platform for diverse cultures to showcase their dressing, food, dance and multi languages revealing identity and promoting unity,” said Chief Mathibe.
Organisers say the event promises a vibrant atmosphere celebrating African identity and cultural diversity during the Africa Day holiday.
