The tumultuous marriage between Manchester United and Dutch man, Eric Ten Hag has finally come to an end with the Manchester club officially announcing Ten Hag is no longer with the club.
The unsurprising development comes hard on the heels of yesterday’s 1-2 loss to West ham which as events have shown was the last nail in Ten Hag’s coffin.
The sacking which most pundits and supporters of the team had long predicted, was announced by United this morning.
“Erik ten Hag has left his role as Manchester United men’s first-team manager. We are grateful to Erik for everything he has done during his time with us and wish him well for the future, said United in the statement.
According to club’s communication, another Dutchman and former striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy will take over on an interim basis.
“Ruud van Nistelrooy will take charge of the team as interim head coach, supported by the current coaching team, whilst a permanent head coach is recruited”.
The former United striker was working under Eric Ten Hag as an assistant.
Whilst Ten Hag showed a lot of promise in his first season, he failed to kick on overseeing a largely inconsistent period where he broke all the wrong records.
United has won only three games this season which leaves the reeling in 15th position in the league and down the perking order in the Europa league with three points out of a possible nine.
