Vhembe Stars Academy and Shabanie Mine Football Clubs are jointly appealing for financial assistance to raise $2 500 needed for surgical operations on Nyasha Pasi injured during a league game between the two clubs at the weekend.
Vhembe Stars Academy president Loadwell Ziyadumah said although Pasi was discharged from Beitbridge District Hospital on Sunday, he still needs attention because he is not fully recovered.
“He needs $2 500 for an operation. I have been in contact with Shabanie Mine President Mpofu who briefed me about the situation and we are appealing to all soccer followers in the Zifa Central Region to come on board a Go-fund for the young man,” said Ziyadumah.
“From what has been established a corrective surgery is needed because tests showed there was some serious internal damages according to scan results,” he said.
Ziyadumah said people should in the spirit of football assist Pasi injured in the dying minutes of the hame and had to be taken from the field of play by ambulance.
He collided with Vhembe Stars Academy’s Lesley Dube in the 88th minute, just 2 minutes after coming on as a substitute for Tavonga Shoko.
Pasi sustained injuries to his private parts and was rushed to hospital immediately after the incident.
The incident occurred while Shabanie Mine were leading 1-0. Fans initially thought he was just buying time to help his team see out the game, only to later find out he was seriously injured.

It was difficult to contact the Zifa Central Soccer Region and the Sports and Recreation Commission both stakeholders in tye games who draw lots of funding from the soccer matches in the region where Pasi plies his trade.
