Dulibadzimu United bounced back to winning ways in the Central Regional Soccer League by securing a crucial 3-0 victory against bottom-placed MSU FC in their match day 32 played at Dubadzimu stadium in Beitbridge.
The win comes on the heels of a disheartening 5-0 loss to FC Platinum U19, marking a much-needed turnaround for the Beitbridge-based team.
The home crowd was treated to an exciting display of football, with Dulibadzimu showcasing positive energy that had been missing in recent outings.
Coach Never Malunga’s decision to make key alterations to the starting lineup introducing players like Ronaldinho Muleya and Kelvin Nzonzi revived the squad and brought a new dimension to their play. The changes proved fruitful, allowing Dulibadzimu to reclaim their spot in the top four of the league standings.
Despite the jubilant atmosphere, some supporters voiced their disappointment with the coach’s earlier reluctance to implement similar tactical changes in previous matches.
Many believe that had such modifications been made sooner, the team could have secured a better position in the league.
On the contrary, MSU FC’s plight deepened with this latest defeat, as their fight against relegation continues to slip further from their grasp. Their inability to secure points leaves them at a critical juncture, with their future in the league hanging in the balance.
In other league action, Tongogara failed to narrow the gap between themselves and league leaders Kwekwe, settling for a 1-1 draw against Sheasham. This stalemate gives Kwekwe a significant advantage and a prime opportunity to secure promotion to the Premier League in the coming weeks, highlighting the competitive nature of this league’s final stretch.
As the season progresses, both Dulibadzimu United and Kwekwe appear poised for contrasting fortunes, with their recent performances pointing toward very different paths.
